Later that afternoon Jerome and Tiphanie walked across the stage together and received their diplomas. Sheila couldn’t be happier to see Tiphanie and Jerome graduate high school. She was definitely a proud parent. After graduation they took pictures together outside.

“I can’t believe were officially high school sweethearts!” Tiphanie kissed Jerome on the cheek.

“Yeah it’s so unreal. I would’ve never seen me in a relationship a few months back. I’m so glad I found you baby.”

Much to everyone’s surprise Connie walks up to Tiphanie and spoils the heartfelt moment. She was beyond shocked and lost for words to see her mother of all people standing before her.

“What are you doing here?”

“I just come to say congratulations to my baby.” Connie was slightly slurring her words.

Connie was dressed in a jean tight skirt that was so short on her. She wore a spaghetti strapped red shirt that looked two sizes small and black flip flops. She looked ridiculous in Sheila and Jerome’s eyes. Jerome hated how Connie dressed but kept his opinion to himself. Sheila on the other hand didn’t judge Connie. She just continued to pray for her. They stood back, gave Tiphanie and Connie their moment but they were not going to leave Tiphanie alone with her, no matter how many people were around. Connie was noticeably intoxicated.

“I called the school and they told me where graduation was being held. I walked around here for about an hour searching for you.

“Well you shouldn’t have. You kicked me out remember?”

Connie looks at Tiphanie’s stomach. Tip held her diploma directly in front of her stomach, not being in the mood to tell her mom about the ectopic pregnancy she endured. “Look I really have nothing to say to you.”

Tip turns around and grabbed Jerome’s hand and walks away with him and Sheila.

Connie yells “I’m sorry. I want to be in your life again!”

Tip, Jerome and Sheila just continue walking to the parking lot ignoring Connie. As far as Tiphanie was concerned she wanted nothing to do with her mom at this moment.
